WRANS Class 60 of 1962
Middle Row L to R: Bottom Row L to R: Photo kindly sent by Carol Castles (nee Kelly SBA) who says: "It would be ok by me if someone from my class wished to contact me by email. I was an SBA and served in Cerberus, Penguin and Coonawarra and was in Harman (as a young married woman having left the Navy due to marriage as was the case in those days). In Coonawarra I was the only SBA and worked under Dr Stuart Sutherland who became the famous CSIRO scientist who founded the antivenene for the funnel web and pioneered the pressure bandage for snake bite and such. So I consider my time in Coonawarra very fortunate to have worked with such an eminent man. Mind you at the time he was a young Navy Dr., just starting out. There are some books written about him and his works. Kind Regards
